Both are Hong Kong companies selling omnichannel messaging to Asian brands, and on the surface they look alike. The real differences are channel coverage, what happens to your data, and how each one is priced. Here is the honest version, with sources.
Choose imBee if you need SMS, email or voice in the same inbox as WhatsApp, if you are in a regulated industry and need a private cloud option and a controllable data retention period, or if you serve customers in Cantonese.
Choose Omnichat if chat-commerce modules are the whole of your requirement — product referral links, abandoned-cart remarketing, coupon and game modules, and store-associate revenue attribution — and your customer journeys never leave social and web channels. That is the specific area they have built deepest. If your retail operation also needs SMS fallbacks, email, broadcast campaigns at scale or a written answer on data residency, read the table first.
Everything in this table was taken from each company’s own public pages in August 2026. Where a vendor does not publish something, the cell says so rather than guessing.

Omnichat supports seven channels, all of them social or web. imBee supports ten, and the three that Omnichat does not offer at all — SMS, email and voice — are the ones regulated and enterprise buyers keep asking for. A bank sending a one-time password, a clinic confirming an appointment with a patient who does not use WhatsApp, or a logistics operator falling back to SMS when a delivery fails all need a channel that Omnichat does not sell.
The reverse is also true and worth saying plainly: Omnichat supports TikTok messaging and imBee does not list it. If TikTok is where your customers reach you, that is a real point in Omnichat’s favour.
This is the difference that matters most to buyers in banking, insurance, securities, lending and healthcare, and it is the one most comparison pages skip.
imBee publishes a private cloud option and a customisable data retention period as named features of the AI Enterprise plan. Both appear on the public pricing page, so you can point a procurement or compliance team at them before you ever speak to sales.
Omnichat publishes neither. Their site has no trust, security or compliance page; the only compliance content is inside the privacy policy, which references the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and GDPR but sets out no data-residency options, no subprocessor list and no certificate detail behind the ISO badge on the homepage.
That is an absence of published information, not evidence of a weakness. Ask them directly. But if you need the answer in writing before a procurement committee meets, one vendor has already put it in public and the other has not.
Omnichat has been building chat commerce since 2017: native coupon and game modules, abandoned-cart remarketing, product referral links with conversion tracking, and customer-to-sales-associate binding that attributes in-store revenue to the colleague who sent the message. If those specific modules are your requirement, Omnichat has built that machinery deepest, and it is a genuine lead.
The trade is everything else on this page: choosing those modules means going without SMS, email and voice in the same inbox, and without a published answer on where your data sits. imBee’s retail deployments run instead on broadcast campaigns, chatbot automation and AI agents across WhatsApp and WeChat, with the governance answers already public — which is usually the deciding factor once a retail brand’s procurement or IT team enters the evaluation. Omnichat also supports TikTok messaging and holds a LINE Biz-Solutions Tech Partner badge, which matters if Taiwan or Thailand is a primary market.
Yes. imBee is an Official Meta Technology Partner. That partnership is how imBee provisions and supports WhatsApp Business API accounts for its customers, including Meta Business verification, template approval and message-template management. If you are evaluating any vendor in this category, ask them to state their exact partner designation in writing and to show you how your WhatsApp Business Account and phone number will be owned — you should hold the asset, not the vendor.
Neither company publishes prices, so nobody can answer this honestly from public information — including us. Both quote on request and both bill annually. Both also price partly on contact volume, so the honest advice is to model your own contact count and message volume for twelve months and ask both vendors to quote against the same numbers. Insist that the quote separates platform fees from WhatsApp conversation charges, because those are passed through by every vendor in this category and can exceed the software cost.
Of the four platforms compared across this site, imBee is the only one that publishes a private cloud deployment option and a customisable data retention period on its own pricing page (both on the AI Enterprise plan). As of August 2026, Omnichat publishes no data-residency options, SleekFlow’s Trust Center names no hosting region or provider, and respond.io states it runs on AWS without publishing a region choice. If data location is a board-level or regulator-facing question for you, ask every shortlisted vendor to answer it in writing.
Your WhatsApp Business Account and phone number belong to your business, not to a vendor, so the number itself can be migrated between providers. Historical conversation data is a separate question and depends on what export your current vendor gives you. Ask Omnichat for a full data export in a machine-readable format before you sign anything with anyone, and ask imBee what it can import. Get both answers in writing.
imBee publishes support for 30+ languages including Cantonese. Omnichat operates in Hong Kong and Taiwan and runs Traditional Chinese versions of its own website, but does not publish a supported-language count for its AI features. Ask for a live demo in Cantonese rather than relying on either claim — written Chinese support and spoken Cantonese handling are not the same capability.
Bring your contact volume and channel mix. We will show you the platform and quote against them.
